2019 is coming to close, and with the new year (and new decade) just around the corner, we're eager to share some of the much-anticipated fitness trends. From wearable fitness technology to what's being called 'conscious deceleration,' here are few trends to look out for in the new year:
1. Wearable Fitness Technology
Fitness trackers aren't anything new, but muscle manipulation devices are. According to news outlets, 2020 will get us one step closer to bridging "the gap between humans and cyborgs." Expect to see more smart devices, including clothing, as well as high-tech gear to stimulate your muscles throughout the day. You can learn more about this trend here.
2. More Mindfulness, Please
Expect to see continued interest and more classes for mindfulness in the fitness industry. From self-guided meditation to studios offering spiritual wellbeing classes, the health industry is emphasizing on soul-care in the new year.
3. CBD Everything
CBD was on the rise in 2019, and the new decade will see growth and continued interest in this natural, plant-derived ingredient. From tinctures for sleep and recovery to beauty products and supplements, we predict CBD will be mainstream (if it's not there already).
4. Virtual Fitness and Wellness
Is it any surprise that 'virtual wellness' is trending for 2020? Why we're not necessarily proponents of this trend (busier is not always better), we're excited to see that busy people are looking for ways to stay on top of health (even virtually). Working out at home is still exercise, after all.
5. More Zzz's
This is a trend we can get behind. Wellness experts claim people are (finally) beginning to prioritize self-care, rest, and sleep—even our technology is telling us when it's time to log out and get to bed. Check out some of our sleep blogs to learn more about the health benefits of quality and quantity sleep.
