Have you ever had those seasons in life where you don't have time for the gym? It happens most often during transition, and maybe you're in the midst of transition now. You could be moving, switching careers, taking care of a new baby. Sometimes life happens, and we're just too busy to take time from our day for a workout at the gym. There is no shame in that.

But when these seasons happen, it doesn't mean your health has to suffer. There are other ways to ensure you're taking care of your body. Here are just a few:

Hydration and Diet

Even when you can't make it to the gym, you can prioritize eating a nutritious and vitamin-rich diet. Avoid ordering take-out or reaching for snacks. There are plenty of simple meals that are wonderful for your health. Try this 5-min Chickpea Aoli Sandwich or these quick and easy gluten-free dinners.

Moreover, stay hydrated. It may be the easiest and best thing you can do for your body. By simply drinking water, you are keeping your body, and you're helping your metabolism, immune system, and skin. Carry a water bottle everywhere you go and aim to drink at least sixteen ounces first thing in the morning.

Get Some Sleep

Getting enough sleep can be hard during a season of transition, especially if you are working long hours or staying up late with a baby. When getting in more sleep hours isn't an option, focus instead on the quality of your sleep. Avoid using media an hour before bed and invest in a good mattress. Use essential oils if you struggle drifting to sleep and limit your alcohol intake so that you can enjoy deeper rest. Here are a few of our favorite sleep tips.

Choose Movement

If you can't make it to the gym, you can still prioritize exercise and movement in a few different ways. For one, walk when you can. Park your car farther away at the grocery store and take the stairs instead of the elevator. Spend your lunch break strolling through the park instead of glued to your computer screen. If your situation allows, bike or walk to work a few times a week; let your baby nap while pushing him or her in a stroller. There are numerous ways to add more movement into your day, so be creative! Share with us on Facebook or Instagram!
