"Our Favorite Winter Farmers Markets in Colorado"

In the last post, we emphasized the importance of adding superfoods into your diet to maintain health this winter. We’ve also published posts about incorporating more plant-based food into meals and eating a more natural, whole food diet.

While we love Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Sprouts as much as the next person, you just can’t beat buying local products and produce at a farmers market. Apart from the joy of supporting farmers and and small businesses, not even Whole Foods can replicate the fresh, earthy experience of literal farm to table. Carrots with soil and dirt clumps still stuck to the tops look, taste, and smell so much better. And guess what? They can be better for your body as well.

In Colorado, this is so easy in the summer. There are farmers markets all over the state, every day of the week. You can buy everything from meat and produce to local, organic soap at a farmers market. Not only do our bodies love Colorado summers, but so do our wallets. As if they are not already amazing enough, farmers markets are—for the most part—less expensive then the chain stores.

So it’s no surprise everyone is a little depressed when winter arrives and the markets pack up for the season. Thankfully though, the farmers have heard our outcry and put together a few indoor markets to survive the winter.
